Principal’s Message

Dear Lions Families,

Welcome back to school! My name is Lamar Johnson and I am humbled and honored to serve as your proud Principal for the 2023-24 school year. As the Principal of Liberty City Elementary School, my mission is to ensure high-quality teaching and learning for every student, every day. As an educator and instructional leader, I believe in approaching all situations with a student-centered, team approach. Doing what is best for children is critically important, and this enables children to grow and excel in all areas.

Liberty City Elementary School is a school where students are supported and encouraged to grow in all areas- academically, socially, and emotionally. I am fortunate to be a part of this high-quality learning community, and I speak on behalf of the entire staff when I say we are excited to have each of you as part of our school community. It takes all of us to help every child reach his/her potential, and we look forward to sharing in your child’s learning experiences.

Building relationships with all critical stakeholders is very important to me, and I will continue to work to ensure students learn and grow every day at Liberty City Elementary School. Throughout the past years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and engage with parents, students, community members, and staff daily. Working with key stakeholders allows me to feel a sense of pride and motivates me to continually communicate and collaborate to meet the needs of our students.

I look forward to working closely with parents, community members, and staff to create an environment at Liberty City Elementary that promotes the focus on learning for every student every day. Working together we will have a wonderful year filled with learning, lifelong relationships and the joys of success and accomplishment. I look forward to meeting each of you, and to working with you and your children throughout the year.

Best Regards,
Lamar S. Johnson, Jr.
